Keeping a healthy diet is a difficult task for many people. It is necessary discipline and control to avoid the excesses that harm our health!
Unlike humans, animals do not have the perception that too many dainties are bad, can cause many health problems and even death! That freaks out, doesn’t it? So it’s up to us, their friends and guardians, the task to provide healthy food and a balanced diet for our animals!
Premium and super-premium quality proven feed are the most indicated for animal feed, but we know it is common to provide some snack or diet with natural food, so check out a few tips to keep your pet’s food healthy:
Cães e gatos
- In the animal kingdom, dogs and cats belong to the class and order of carnivores, so their diets must be rich in protein and less carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables.
- They can eat raw meat, as long as it is of a reliable origin with proven quality.
- Provide a feed according to the species and stage of your pet’s life. Puppies have different needs than an adult, elderly, pregnant, obese or athlete animal.
- Chocolates, coffee and teas containing theobromine and caffeine can intoxicate and lead to the death of the animal.
- Ingestion of garlic, chives, onions and leeks can cause severe anemia.
- Avocado, macadamia, sweets, candies, grapes and raisins and food with lots of salt can also cause severe poisoning.
- Citrus fruit should not be included in the feeding of animals with gastrointestinal problems, such as gastritis.
- Apples, carrots, spinach, broccoli, banana, guava, blueberry, pear, mango (pitted), kiwi are some examples of fruit and vegetables that, in very small quantities, can be included in the feeding of pets, since they are clean, fresh and seedless.
- Keep the water and food containers always clean, after all nobody likes to eat on a dirty plate!
Aves
- Make sure that the food (feed, seeds, fruit and vegetables) are indicated for the species of your bird.
- Beware of seed blends! This type of diet is widely adopted for domestic birds, but stay tuned! When stored incorrectly, they lose their quality and impair the health of the bird.
- Oil seeds (walnuts, peanuts, chestnuts and almonds) and sunflower seeds are very greasy and should be supplied with MODERATION.
- Provide fresh fruit and vegetables in small portions, always in clean containers.
- Preferably give less greasy fruit and vegetables, such as apple, melon, banana, papaya, carrot, corn and kale.
- The water of the birds must be changed daily.
